You already have the power within you to find the solutions to whatever problem you may have been experiencing. Whether you want to stop smoking, lose weight, overcome a phobia, achieve good physical health or replace stress with calmness, the power to reach those goals already exist within you, at an unconscious level.


As you master the technique of self hypnosis and practice it regularly so you will find that, day by day, that future, which is very important to you, will become reality. Self hypnosis is the method which enables you to grasp the power that already lies within you, make those Changes and enjoy the life that you want and deserve.


Accessing powerful resources from your memory

Throughout the course of your life, you have already developed powerful resources which can assist you now in developing the solution that you want.


Let's say for example, you want to become confident and develop the habit of being confident .Many people who say they want to experience this feeling have already experienced confidence at various times in the past in various situations so the memory of that feeling will still be present in the unconscious mind. Through the use of Self Hypnosis it is possible to go back to that time and to re-experience that same sense of that feeling making it easier for the mind to access that feeling again.


A step by step guide to Self Hypnosis


1. Create The Right Atmosphere

Find a quiet room where you will not be disturbed. Dim the lights or turn them off or you may chose to light a candle.

Play some relaxing music or even burn some relaxing essential oils.

Use anything you want that will help you create a relaxing Atmosphere.

Then sit in a comfortable chair with both feet flat on the floor and your hands flat on the thighs preferably not touching each other.


2. Preparing Yourself

Tell yourself silently or aloud, that you are going to do Self Hypnosis. Then tell yourself silently or aloud how long you want to remain in the trance. Fifteen to twenty minutes is fine to begin with however after a few practices you may decide to make it longer.


3. Breathing Correctly

Aline your head properly to where it feels comfortable and relax those shoulders.

Close those eyes and begin to breathe very slowly and deeply in through the nose and out through the mouth. At the top of the breath hold it for three seconds, and then count to five on every out breath. As you breathe out imagine you are breathing away any nervous tension or stress that you may have in the body.

It is also important to breathe diaphragmatically, so as you breathe in so your stomach goes out and as your breathe out so your stomach goes in.

With this breath the oxygen is flowing to every part of the body making it easier for you to relax.

Every time you breathe out say the word Relax or the word Calm silently and mentally but as though you can actually hear it in your inner ear. Sometimes it helps to visualize the words in your minds eye in a colour i.e.; a light purple or light blue.

Continue the breathing for 10 or more times until you feel completely relax


4. Clear your mind

Allow your mind to go completely blank. Don’t worry if you get any un wanted thoughts in your mind, tell yourself not to fight them as they will soon drift away again. You could imagine a blank computer screen full of data and by hitting a button on the keypad the screen becomes blank.


5. Deepening the trance

By now you will already be in a deep trance state. A good technique to guide yourself deeper into a trance is to silently and mentally count down from 10-1 feeling every muscle in your body relax more and more with every step down counting every number on every 2nd or third breath out. You could also enhance this by visualizing 10 steps down to a beautiful garden, counting down with every step, going deeper with every number down.


6. What you want to achieve

Now think for a moment what you would most like to achieve, think about the solution you want to attain in positive terms avoiding any negatives. Try and see a picture of yourself, if you can, enjoying the positive future that you want. Make the picture big and bright a colourful moving image rather that a still picture.


7.Utilizing The Trance

At this stage you can relax and drift or give yourself a positive affirmation, a powerful statement that sums up the goal you want to achieve. Make sure you that the affirmation is in positive terms. Examples of an affirmation include, “Its good to be slimmer and eat just the right foods”, “I am a confident and prepared in all situations”or “I am happy and healthy being a non smoker”. Pick an affirmation that you think is good for you, make sure it is in the present, as if it is actually happening to you. Then begin to see this as a picture in your minds eye and then say the affirmation to yourself, either silently, or mentally, or aloud again and again using a confident reassuring voice with every breath out.


8. Deepening The Trance

Now see yourself stepping inside your own body into that positive picture you can see before you. Begin to feel the way your body feels, know that you are experiencing directly this positive future. See what you can see with your own eyes, hear what you can hear with your ears and begin to live this new life with the power of you imagination.


9. Coming back from The Trance

Let yourself experience this for as long as you like perhaps 5 or 10 or 15 minutes and then gradually come back to the here and now whilst giving yourself the suggestions that you will wake feeling refreshed revitalized and alert.
